The Title track, and one with countless hours into it, really epitomizes the album's concept, that Psychedelic Rock got pretty far, as didRr and B, Soul, but the Psychedelic Soul is evasive, didnt always fit like a glove.
Sly, Jimi, Moby Grape, Sons of Champlin, Band Of Gypsys were my faves. So Will Russ adds an almost 4 Tops feel to this Beatlesy soul tune, that hopefully transcends color, time, tempo, or genre.
YOU KNOW WE'RE ALL THE SAME
(we see what we want to see)
GOT NO TIME FOR HURTIN GAMES
(cant just be what you want to be?)
EVERYONE IS BEAUTIFUL INSIDE
(the way we're designed)
DONT UNDERSTAND A NEED TO HIDE
WHAT IF I TOLD YOU A STORY
SAID EVERYTHING WAS ALL RIGHT
WHAT IF I TOLD YOU "I LOVE YOU"?
HOW WOULD IT CHANGE YOUR LIFE?
THE THINGS WE KNOW ARE REAL
(never get in the way)
LIKE THE LOVE WE NEED TO FEEL
(every day, every day)
YOU KNOW YOU ARE WHO YOU BELIEVE YOU ARE
(in your own mind)
A HOPELESS CASE OR A SHINING STAR
WHAT IF I TOLD YOU A STORY
SAID EVERYTHING WAS ALL RIGHT
WHAT IFI TOLD YOU "I LOVE YOU"?
HOW WOULD IT CHANGE YOUR LIFE?
I THOUGHT THAT I WAS ALONE
COULDNT FIND MY WAY HOME
SO I LOOKED TO THE SKY
TRY'N TO FIND AN ANSWER WHY
WHEN I LOOKED BACK DOWN AT THE GROUND
ALL I COULD SEE WAS THE LOVE ALL AROUND
( SOLO)
WHAT IF I TOLD YOU A STORY
SAID EVERYTHING WAS ALL RIGHT
WHAT IF TOLD YOU "I LOVE YOU"?
HOW WOULD IT CHANGE YOUR LIFE?
